Grammy- and Oscar-nominated songwriter Stephen Bishop praises Rob Seals as a songwriting teacher in this month's MIX Magazine after taking The Roots 1 & 2 from Rob at The Songwriting School of Los Angeles.  

 "It was humbling and thrilling to have Stephen in the class," Rob notes.  "It's not like you're going to teach a writer as accomplished as he is about his craft.  But what a wonderful example he set, at this point in his career, to be looking for new approaches and fresh ways to become inspired.  We felt honored to have him in the room each week."

In the article in MIX Magazine about Bishop's smash hit "On and On" he describes his time in The Roots and calls Seals "a very good teacher."  Bishop's new song "Love Is You" began in the very first exercise of The Roots, Part 1 and grew through numerous revisions in the classes.  

"I feel proud that The Roots curriculum can hold power for first-time writers and writers of Stephen's stature alike.  What inspires me is that a writer with his career is willing to open himself to new ideas and humble himself to the process of creating fresh work.  There were first-time writers and emerging artists in the group, but no one took each exercise and each topic more seriously or thoughtfully than the most decorated writer in the room himself.  Stephen's example reminds us what a lifetime's journey a creative endeavor can and should be."
