English Actress Makes Debut CD E-mail
Juliet Howland, who has appeared in films such as Iris, The Painted Veil,  and V for Vendetta, has just completed the recording of her debut CD...

The as yet to be titled full-length CD will contain eleven original songs produced, recorded, and mixed by Rob Seals.  Ms. Howland plays guitar, piano, and flute on the recording in addition to singing and composing her own songs.  The collection also contains a few cinematic instrumental pieces.  She is accompanied by Ryan Brown on drums and percussion, Joe Karnes on upright and electric bass, Beth Balmer on strings, accordian, keys, and Irish whistle, Stevie Blacke on cello, and Seals on various guitars and stringed instruments.

"Juliet's songs have such a marvelous intensity and integrity to them," Seals observes.  "They feel like old English folk songs that might've been sung for generations.  We worked hard to make them at once sonically contemporary and aesthetically timeless.  The instrumental compositions have all the moving, dramatic elements of a great film score.  It was an honor to help this talented artist make her first record."

The CD was mastered by 3-time Grammy-winner Gavin Lurssen at Lurssen Mastering in December.  Expect a Spring 2009 UK and US release, details TBA.
